Beijing has called a way to break the deadlock in US-China relations

US-Chinese relations have reached an impasse, because the US considers China as an “imaginary enemy”. This was stated by Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Xie Feng, Xinhua reports.

The official called on the United States to change this opinion and stop the “dangerous” policy of countering China. According to him, the American side demands cooperation when it needs it, and goes to confrontation when it feels its advantage. At the same time, Xie Feng said that the world needs solidarity, and called humanity “passengers in the same boat”.

“China wants to cooperate with the United States to find common ground, not paying attention to differences,” the Chinese deputy Foreign Minister added. The main way for Washington to achieve this and break the deadlock is to ” change course and work with China on the basis of (…) peaceful coexistence”.

He recalled that the White House was the first to resort to sanctions and interference in the internal affairs of other countries. Earlier, Xie Feng called the United States “the inventor, the owner of a patent and intellectual property rights for coercive diplomacy.” Xie Feng’s speech was made at talks with US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman in the port city of Tianjin in northern China.

On July 23, it became known that China imposed sanctions against former US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross and six other high-ranking Americans. This step was a response to the inclusion of seven Chinese top officials on the US Treasury Department’s blacklist. The reason for such measures on the part of Washington was the arrests of foreign entrepreneurs in Hong Kong.

On July 24, White House press Secretary Jen Psaki said that China’s sanctions will not stop the United States. The American government, according to her, is ready to continue the policy of restrictions against Beijing.
